The Start of the BlogThe teachers on my team would love it when I shared my creations with them. This encouraged me to make more and more. I've gotten a few comments on my creations from other teachers, so I've decided to create this blog to showcase my products. I'll be posting freebies, my products for sale, how products helped in my classroom experience, brainstorming ideas, and more!
I love the teaching community online with sharing and expanding ideas. I honestly feel that every person is constantly growing and learning new things daily, and we learn the best when we bounce ideas off each other. Please feel free to share your ideas & suggestions on this blog!
Meet the Teacher
Hello, I'm Stephanie and I've been a primary school teacher since January 2010 with experience in grades K-6. I am passionate about teaching and aiding in the education of young students. I believe that innovative and interactive lessons will help engage student participation and provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students.
As of the end of the September 2013-June 2014 (U.S.) school year, I decided to take an adventure and move my life to Australia. I was able to become registered with the Teacher Registration Board here in my state and started relief teaching to get used to the education system and curriculum here. I was hired during the 2015 Australian school year as a full-time teacher!
Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities,
because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled,
can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation.

My Teaching Journey
When I first started teaching there was a hiring freeze and I had to spend a few short years working as a substitute teacher and taking over classes for Maternity Leave teachers. Everyone wants to start teaching in the classroom right away, but I feel like these transition years helped shape me into the teacher I am today.
You can read more about my early years
here!
When I was hired full-time for my first full year of teaching I was lucky enough to be hired at the school I did my internship. I was put onto a team of teachers I had previously "worked" with and we got along so well.
I started out in 2nd grade, but moved up to 3rd grade and that's where I really found my groove in teaching! Sunrise Elementary was an amazing school and I can't thank the staff enough for inspiring me to better myself as a teacher and feeling the love from all members of the school everyday (students, fellow staff, parents, volunteers and more)!

In 2015, I was fortunate enough to restart/continue my journey by teaching in regional Australia! Although the curriculum is a bit similar, the style of teaching is a bit different. I started again with relief teaching for almost a year, then was hired to take over a class partially through the year for a teacher leaving on Maternity Leave.
And here I am continuing my journey, back as a full-time teacher! I'm lucky enough to have come across some wonderful friends that have helped me along the way as I understand life as an Australian teacher.
